Excused: Greg Clinton, Nanette Asimov Meeting Convened: 7:17 p.m. I. Approval of Minutes of March 16, 2010 Action: Vote to approve: Vote of 5-0 (Anita Theoharis; 2nd Anne Chen) III. Co-Treasurer’s Reports A. Account Balances—Grant Revenues continue to be greater than projected at this point in the year. Baltazar paid for Upper Faxon project. Discussed calendar of deadlines and tasks. Anne will set up on Google online calendar and send for input. B. Dues and Lien collections—Julie Status of 2010 dues: 61% paid since billing in March. IV. Committee Reports Newsletter—Nanette- Continuing to search for one-stop shopping printer for newsletter. Common Area Maintenance—Greg Resolution of question on Upper Faxon Triangle water meter: The meter not moved but covered with mulch. The mulch is now removed. Follow-up on child and pet friendly additives to the Common Areas: Greg reviewed with Baltazar cost estimates of organic fertilizer. Action: Authorize trying organic fertilizer recommended by Baltazar for 1 year; WPA will purchase 16 bags; purchase will increase maintenance costs by $1300/ year (Vote of 5-0;Grant Edelstone, 2nd Anita Theoharis) “Dog Poop” Someone is leaving “dog poop” bags neatly placed under the Upper Plymouth bench. Grant to post a temporary sign to encourage dog walkers not leaving poop. Topic to be further discussed at next meeting. Miramar Circle: Adopt a plant--New Zealand flax. Greg to send email to residents that the plants are available on a first come, first serve basis. Anne reported that Baltazar proposed to rip up grass to determine if a barrier can be placed around Pine tree to prevent over watering. Board reviewed Baltazar’s proposal to remove all lavender; remove all existing irrigation and install new sprinkler system and new drip irrigation; prepare ground, install wire netting and new lawn; And, plant yarrow as specified. Action: Authorize $3000, $500 above the $2500 estimate, to Gutierrez Gardening for Miramar Circle improvements. (Vote of 5-0; Anne Chen/2nd Julie Hagelshaw) C. Planning and Zoning—Anita Discretionary Review: City placed on hold – WPA still has right to apply for discretionary review. Planning Department meeting for community outreach. 665 Faxon: The secondary unit has been demolished and garage restored. OARC—Kate Reported that the OARC Merchant Mixer is scheduled on April 21, 2010. Requested approval for Letter of Support for the City’s grant application on the Phelan Loop Public Plaza. Action: Approve Letter of Support with changes (Vote of 5-0; Anita Theoharis/2nd Anne Chen) V. Old Business-email report Faxon Green upgrade – Greg Complete!! City College Community Passes – Greg Tina Johns has volunteered to coordinate passes. Close to 40 emails received requesting passes. Gate cleaning—Anne Anne discussed with Baltazar. Action: Approve $500 for payment to Gutierrez Gardening to clean gates. (Vote of 5-0; Julie Hagelshaw/2nd Anita Theoharis) VI. New Business Lights – PG&E determined they did not dig up road way but PUC did when they put in sewer lines. Our PG&E contact has corresponded with PUC. PUC is looking into it. Greg will report back. Upper Miramar gate doors missing: Anne to ask Greg about how or where to obtain new gates. Next Meeting: May 18, 2010: 1449 Plymouth June meeting rescheduled from June 18 to June 22.
