Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 8/18/09 The meeting was called to order at 7:14p.m. at 10 Valdez. Co-Treasurer’s Reports: Account balances provided in report from co-treasurer, Grant Edelstone as follows: 9 Mo Risk Free CD 1.69% (Mat. 9/24/09): $18,498 9 Mo Risk Free CD 1.39% (Mat. 2/22/10): $12,149 Maximizer: $54,311 WPA Checking: $770 Total Bank Accounts: $85,728 Dues and Liens: Julie Hagelshaw 80% paid. Committee Reports: Newsletter: Nanette Asimov Newsletter is in good shape – everything has come in on time. Common Area Maintenance: Greg Clinton Nothing to report. Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis (Insert Anita’s email here) OARC – Kate Blockbuster site – wrote letter to realtor and owner finally painted over. The very next day, the building was “tagged” again. Sean Elsbernd has been contacted and he will explore the blight ordinance. DPW posts on properties that have graffiti and the postings end up being removed. Massage parlors on Ocean – ongoing investigations into a couple of businesses. Old Business: Graffiti paint – Geoff The paint will get bought this Friday, 8/21. Miramar trees – Anne The trees have been removed. Replanting will get underway. Watering needs to be adjusted to suit the new trees with drip lines. New Business: Phelan Loop development – Kevin & Joseph See attached handout. Development will most likely be as close to 60 units as possible and 20% will be transitioning youth housing. On-site staff and wrap-around services. NERT Captain Lazar Ingleside Branch Library 1250 Plymouth – Anne Anne was advised to get help from an elected official to remedy this issue. Sean Elsbernd has been contacted. Blight ordinance has been in effect since November -08. Petition will be submitted to DPW.
