Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 4/15/08 The meeting was called to order at 7:20p.m. at 1254 Plymouth. Roll Call: Present: Anita Theoharis, Julie Hagelshaw, Nanette Asimov, Grant Edelstone, Anne Chen, Asa Williams, Geoff Williams Absent: Greg Clinton Community members: Approval of Minutes of March 18 Moved by Anne Seconded by Julie Passed unanimously. Co-Treasurer’s Reports: Account balances provided in report from co-treasurer, Grant Edelstone as follows: 9 Mo Risk Free CD(Mat. 12/24/08): $18,022.98 9 Mo Risk Free CD (Mat. 8/20/08): $11,700.95 Maximizer: $405.25 WPA checking: $545.28 Total: $30,674.46 Dues and Liens: Julie Hagelshaw $11,377.64 in dues have come in so far - 128 residences. 20% of members. Donations to date: $836.00 Committee Reports: Newsletter: Nanette Asimov Newsletter went out and it looks great! Common Area Maintenance: Greg Clinton Miramar green was driven over again and boulders were moved. Lawn on the Faxon green was looking poor, but Mike O’Driscoll has now kindly been fixing the sprinkler system. The board will monitor the situation. In the future the board might consider replacing with an automated system. Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis/Anne Chen Planning Dept. Discretionary Review - Anita is meeting with the planning director tomorrow. Geoff/Asa will write a script about “we moved here with the understanding that the neighborhood is a residential character district, property values etc.” Everybody has been assigned tasks to prepare and will show up for the hearing. Old Business: Barbagelata real estate marketing – Anita & Geoff Letter was sent out and we haven’t heard anything, but we think that is OK. Attorney retainer – Greg Tim Emert has lots of ideas and sources and he is willing to oversee pro bono services. New Business: Grant - NERT group is doing a disaster fair on May 10th. Fire truck will be there etc. Will take place on the Montecito (Upper Plymouth) green. Will try to recruit more volunteers. Kathy Beitiks – Julie Award coming up for annual preservation design award. $190 to enter.
