Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 2/19/08 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. at 45 Pizarro. Roll Call: Present: Greg Clinton, Julie Hagelshaw, Nanette Asimov, Grant Edelstone, Anita Theoharis, Asa Williams Absent: Anne Chen Community members: Margaret Reed Approval of Minutes of January 15 Moved by Julie Seconded by Nanette Passed unanimously. Co-Treasurer’s Reports: Account balances provided in report from co-treasurer, Grant Edelstone as follows: 4 Mo CD: $22,742.22 9 Mo Risk Free CD: $11,614.47 Maximizer: $1,440.50 WPA checking: $185.19 Total: $35,982.38 Dues and Liens: Julie Hagelshaw $839.42 in new dues and liens came in in Jan and Feb. New bill (shown by Julie) will go out in March. Will add additional language in the donations section to make it more enticing to donate. 175 residents still have not paid. $149.10 will be new amount for people who have not paid. Can we send those a certified letter instead of sending the regular dues? Send letter as usual and a month later send lien letter. Committee Reports: Newsletter: Nanette Asimov In good shape. Dues insert, President’s letter, obligations (disclosure) letter, budget summary, article about donations to library, NERT update, SAFE letter, tree topping article, article from Anita about uniformity and historical nature of neighborhood character (w/pictures). Common Area Maintenance: Greg Clinton Baltazar is in the middle of the next to last green. Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis 111 Colon – Discretionary review is May 8th. Anita will prepare the packets. 840 Faxon – Complaint was filed for deck. Owner asked to meet with Anita, and he was told that he needed to cure notice of violation with the City. The deck was subsequently removed. Old Business: Barbagelata real estate marketing – Anita & Geoff Amended letter (attached) approved and will be sent out. Attorney retainer – Greg Tim Emert is willing to volunteer. Will meet with Greg. What are the types of things we would want to use an attorney for? Set-back issues (parking, paving, fences, garage conversions), dues, liens, planning and zoning issues, nuisance issues. Asa will ask colleague who lives in St Francis Wood about whether they have an attorney on retainer. NERT funds – Grant Separate account has now been set up for the funds. Budget – Grant (Attached) Will revise and send out another version. Approve the budget draft as amended. Anita moves Julie seconds Unanimous vote New Business: West of Twin Peaks Central Council – Margaret Reed Want to double the dues from $145 to $270/year. One reason is they are getting D&O insurance. Should WPA rejoin? Anita moves to approve increase in dues to TPCC and effective March 1, 2008, WPA will resign from TPCC because the activities are not consistent with their stated bylaws.
