Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 1/15/08 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. at 1448 Plymouth. Roll Call: Present: Greg Clinton, Julie Hagelshaw, Nanette Asimov, Grant Edelstone, Asa Williams Absent: Anita Theoharis, Anne Chen Community members: Ken & Regina (& Cole) Piper, 640 Faxon Approval of Minutes of December 18 Moved by Nanette Seconded by Grant Passed unanimously. Co-Treasurer’s Reports: Account balances provided in report from co-treasurer, Grant Edelstone as follows: 4 Mo CD: $22,658.77 9 Mo Risk Free CD: $11,574.87 Maximizer: $16,812.16 WPA checking: $687.15 Total: $51,732.95 Dues and Liens: Julie Hagelshaw Nothing to report. Committee Reports: Newsletter: Nanette Asimov Dates for newsletter “in hand”: April 1, September 7, December 15. Greg – Article (Christine Leischman) about library ground breaking – maybe neighbors would like to buy a brick? Greg will email Christine. Common Area Maintenance: Greg Clinton Baltazar picked up branches that had fallen down in the storm. Two more Miramar greens remain to be updated. Nanette moves to approve $10,000 for the remaining two medians. Julie seconds. Unanimous vote Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis Nothing to report Old Business Lower Faxon Parking – Greg Resident (Ken Piper) voiced concerns about the WPA Board’s recommendation to remove parking around green. Public hearing will take place and residents who are concerned will have another opportunity to voice concerns. Barbagelata real estate marketing – Anita & Geoff Nothing to report Attorney retainer – Greg What should the attorney do? Parking issues, set-back issues, zoning issues. NERT funds – Grant Bank would be willing to set up new account. Will ask for separate statement. New Business: Community meeting – Greg/Grant Captain O’Leary will send a sergeant to meeting and NERT will have representation. Greg will run meeting. Refreshments – bottled water and cookies. Suggestion for agenda: Police first SAFE NERT Budget – Grant Working budget (Attached). Will vote on this at next month’s meeting. Grant - Exempt organization filing fee 2004. We now have a late fee for this fee for -04 – check for $25 was paid, but the Franchise Tax Board filed it as a different fee and then put a late fee in place. Nanette - Request that the Franchise Tax Board remove our late fee for 2004.
