Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 10/16/07 The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. at 1449 Plymouth. The addition was never done and the house was sold. Patrick Doherty now owns and lives at 156 Southwood, and he would like to do a slightly smaller version of the horizontal addition – 312 sq ft – but otherwise basically the same as the previously approved addition. Anita proposes to approve Patrick’s plans. Anne moves to approve. Anita seconds, Passed unanimously. Gopher intrusion was dealt with. We could do two more Miramar greens for the money that is left in the budget. Moved by Anita Seconded by Anne Passed unanimously Traffic: Greg Clinton Parking enforcement problem on Faxon & Ocean and Plymouth & Ocean. Greg talked to DPT but nothing has changed. Will contact DPT again. Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis 54 Eastwood – Abatement of illegal unit in garage. Got 14 day abatement at hearing. Hearing was just for garage, however there are two more units in this home. How did this happen? 951 Monterey – Mr. Yap was concerned about shrubs being on his property: Property line issue. WPA advises property line survey. 840 Faxon – project sponsor called and said that plans would be sent but nothing has been received yet. 111 Colon – Anita will call to follow up. Kurt Meinhart gave a presentation at meeting with Dean Macris et al. and showed pictures from 1920s & present. 137 Eastwood – Lots of junk in front of house. Garbage cans in windows. No permits posted. 70 Eastwood – Replacing fence. If they are abiding by CC&Rs and city regulations about set-backs there is no problem. Anita will follow up. Lower Faxon Parking: Greg Clinton/Ken Piper Safety concerns with congestion caused by parking around the Lower Faxon green. Ken Piper of 640 Faxon is concerned that if cars are removed from green maybe cars will drive faster down Faxon towards Monterey. Feedback from neighbors around Faxon green: everybody was in favor of removing parking. Ken Piper of 640 Faxon gave presentation (attached) WPA recommends getting neighbors on board to request traffic calming measures. Garbage cans/dog waste bags: Greg Clinton Discussed issue. This is a private common area. City will not pick up waste. It is not within Board’s jurisdiction to expend funds for this end. Barbagelata real estate marketing: Anita Theoharis The WPA doesn’t endorse any commercial interests. They can’t make it seem like WPA is endorsing this venture. It has to be done on Barbagelata’s behalf. Will send letter to Barbagelata Real Estate.
