Westwood Park Association Minutes of monthly meeting 8/21/07 The meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m. at 2 Pizarro. Co-Treasurer's Reports: Account balances provided in report from co- treasurer, Grant Edelstone as follows: 6 Mo cd: $30,397.22 Maximizer: $28,680.22 WPA checking: $1,355.15 Total: $60,432.59 Dues and Liens: Julie Hagelshaw 82% dues paid. Fantastic! (60% is collection rate usually with homeowners' associations). (liens in the process. 11 properties paid in the last month. Committee Reports: Newsletter: Nanette Asimov Everyone met their deadlines. Common Area Maintenance: Greg Clinton Lower Faxon green parking Ð lots of neighbors complaining about people parking around green Ð Greg contacted DPT Ð they are working on it. Julie - same complaint about Plymouth. Ken Ð the side effect- no parking across street. People then drive faster instead. Can Speed bumps be added? Anita Ð red zone and speed bump would be good. Ken volunteers to research Walgreens parking issues 7 FUF trees. Not on upper Faxon because of pushback from neighbors around green. Plymouth green Ð just a little more work is needed. 47 volunteers came and worked. Great! We still have money in the budget for upgrades. We could do one more island. It would cost about $3000 more to do that. Motion to do one more island. Moved by Geoff Seconded by Anita Passed unanimously Planning and Zoning: Anita Theoharis Anita Theoharis, Steve Theoharis, Kurt Meinhart, Dean Macris, director and Larry Badiner, zoning administrator, Craig Nikitas, planner in charge of design review met. See attached letter from Anita. Want DVD in package, want pictures of neighborhood in 1919 and now. Anita to write task list of what needs to be done. 840 Faxon Ð Complaint filed - No permit Ð large deck being built on back of building. 810 Faxon Ð Complaint filed Ð Unpermitted work 695 Miramar Ð exposed gas line Ð Anita already called and got a callback. Bob - nothing has been done with it. Bob will call PG&E to ask them to remedy asap. Anita will write letter saying "Neighbors are concerned." Old Business: Setback parking Ð Greg Will e-mail (to Board) letter that says that you can't park on setback and not pave over front yard, and if you are in violation you are in trouble. Resident on Hazelwood (Bob Stark) and Greg and Mitchell will be reporting on these issues. 150 Eastwood Ð has gone to code enforcement department Ð will have hearing and if they lose there will be fine every year. 1262 Plymouth Ð paved over front setback and then tore it back out. 1392 Plymouth Ð Julie Ð Are there any permits? Anne will do a permit search and contact the owners. Welcome package Ð Asa Will need the last pieces from Anita. Anita will plug in formalities and e-mail to Board by this weekend. 20 copies of CC&Rs etc from Anita and 10 more copies of DVDs from Greg. Gate painting Ð Geoff 3 bids Ð Schinman approx. $5,100, Tara Pro Painting $4,600, and O'Flynn $3,150 (will do all gates apart from Upper Miramar for free). Greg will talk to Mr. O'Flynn and ask if he can do the job within the next few weeks. If it deosn't work with O'Flynn we will go with Tara. 1555 Plymouth Ð it now looks better and it is as good as we can do. Julie- new car parked on the setback this afternoon. Greg suggests taking a dated picture. New Business: Annual meeting tasks Ð Greg Everybody will bring a dish. Tables and chairs. Anita will call sound systems people. Joe Koman will do BBQ. Kathy Pubill will get the horse and barricades. Greg will get truck from fire department. Anne will do food shopping with Greg. Purchase ice morning of Ð Geoff Parent's group will be there. Captain Chignell will be there to talk. Nanette Ð will contact the group home to see if we can organize an event or something to befriend the residents. Anne Ð marijuana club is asking for comments right now for a hearing. Anne and Greg will prepare a letter.
